Introduction

We at Odddog (“Odddog”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), based in Quebec, Canada, respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information in connection with videogames we publish or provide (the “Games”), including Games made available through platforms such as Steam.

For the purposes of Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25 (“Law 25”) and, where applicable, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”), Odddog is the organization responsible for the personal information described in this Policy.

The Games may include links to third-party services, stores, community features, or advertisements. We do not control those third parties’ privacy practices. If you use Steam or another platform, their privacy policies also apply to information they collect as platform operators.

We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version at odddog.house/privacy.html. If we make a substantial change, we will try to notify you through the Games or by email when reasonably possible.

The data we collect and use

Below we describe categories of personal information we may process in connection with the Games, why we use it, and the general basis for that use (for example, providing the Game, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Games, consent where we ask for it, or legal obligations).

Identity data (platform player ID, display/user name, avatar) Identifiers used so you can play, appear to other players, and use multiplayer or social features offered through the Games or the platform. Needed to provide the Games and related features you choose to use.
Contact data (email address) Information you provide when you email us (for example at contact@odddog.house) or otherwise contact us for support. Responding to your request; keeping a record of the conversation as needed to help you and operate our studio.
Technical data (device/OS info, language, crash or error details you send) Technical information that may appear in bug reports, crash logs, or support messages you choose to send us. Diagnosing issues, improving stability and compatibility, and supporting players.
Location-related data (country, language, approximate region) Coarse information that may be inferred from platform settings or included in materials you send us (we do not require precise geolocation for the Games). Understanding regional issues (for example connectivity) and improving the experience.
Gameplay / session data In-game activity needed for multiplayer, matchmaking, progression, or anti-abuse features where offered by the Games or platform. Providing and securing the Games.
Aggregated or anonymized data Statistics that no longer identify you. Understanding usage and improving the Games. Anonymized data is not treated as personal information.

Personal information we receive from third parties

When you play through Steam or another distribution platform, that platform may provide us with account identifiers and related information needed to run the Games (for example a Steam ID and display name). We do not purchase marketing lists or buy personal information from data brokers for the Games.

Platform operators process personal information under their own policies. Please review Steam’s (or your platform’s) privacy documentation for details about their collection and use of data.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share personal information only as needed to operate the Games, including with:

Transfers outside Quebec and Canada

Some platforms and service providers may process personal information outside Quebec or Canada. When we transfer personal information outside Quebec, we take steps consistent with Law 25, including assessing privacy risks and using contractual or other measures intended to provide an adequate level of protection where required.

Keeping your data safe

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information to help protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please be careful when sharing information online.

Retention and deletion

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as otherwise required or permitted by law (for example to resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or meet legal obligations). When information is no longer needed, we destroy, erase, or anonymize it in a secure manner.

You may request deletion of personal information we hold about you by contacting us. We may retain limited information where we have a legal obligation or other lawful need to do so.

Children

The Games are not directed to children under the age of 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 in connection with the Games. If you are under 14, please do not use the Games or provide personal information to us.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 14 has provided personal information to us, contact contact@odddog.house and we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
